Did you get frustrated, when Super Mario died right before he was able to rescue Princess Peach and conquer the Mushroom Kingdom? Or if by a silly mistake he stepped on Goomba in the middle of the mission? What if he could be SMART and RESTART from the user defined checkpoint and simply try again, not waisting his and yours precious time and resources? In this session, we will use use mission-critical z/OS batch applications as our Mario and will showcase, how a system-wide restart facility provides a resilient safety net for z/OS batch application.
