The HMC (Hardware Management Console) is the entry point to zSystems Platform
Management, and security should be a priority. This session will cover the
extensive security of the HMC including user and password controls (local, LDAP,
Muti-Factor Authentication), user role task/object controls, network security,
secure firmware delivery, default settings tailored to security, APIs, and audit
capabilities. Security controls for HMC Mobile, BCPii, Firmware Integrity
Monitoring, Secure Boot for z/OS & Linux and more are also integrated into the
HMC Security Checklist! The objective is for customers to understand HMC
security best practices, to demonstrate the HMC is a secure appliance for
managing zSystems, and to have customers validate their HMC use controls to
ensure they are meeting their company's security policy. -- Presented by Brian Valentine
