In the CIO organization, which is responsible for the z/OS infrastructure
supporting all of IBM internal applications, like Payroll and ShopZ to name a
few, is built on an open source solution to build/create z/OS resident volume
sets. The Open Source is using Python and IBM z/OS Open Automation Utilities.
The process uses the SMP/e Target libraries or the non-SMP/e installation
libraries as the source input files, plus the z/OS configuration files, like
PARMLIB and PROCLIB from a Github repository to build the RES volume set.
