There's been much hand-wringing the last few years about organizations moving
their mainframe applications to the cloud. Is this the inevitable path for every
organization and every application? Or is it a disastrous decision likely to
cost millions before the organization decides to move everything back to on-prem
mainframe? In the spirit of community embodied by SHARE, we'll have an open and
honest conversation about this often sensitive topic. Misty Decker will share
recent research and lead the group in sharing their experiences and thoughts
around moving to the cloud. We'll discuss what the recent announcements mean for
the future of the mainframe, how the growth of cloud can benefit mainframers and
what the future might hold.
