How can you be more confident the z/OS platform software you acquire is safe and
trusted? Verifying a digital signature for software delivery packages can
increase your confidence in the authenticity (who produced it?) and the
integrity (has it changed in transit?) of the packages so you can trust the
software you install. SMP/E and z/OSMF Software Management provide capabilities
to digitally sign software packages and of course to verify the signatures of
signed software packages. If you are a software installer and want to learn how
IBM digitally signs packages for z/OS software product and service offerings and
how you can verify the signature of those signed packages, or if you are a
provider of software and want to sign your software delivery packages, then come
to this session.
