Interrupt Delay is technically part of I/O response time. Unlike the original
subcomponents: IOSQ, PEND, CONNECT, and DISCONNECT, I/O Interrupt Delay has
nothing to do with your storage. It is entirely within the CEC. In recent years,
IBM has updated their guidance on CPENABLE and, with z/OS 3.1 we introduce a new
option CPENABLE=SYSTEM, rather than specific high/low values. This new option
will apply IBM's guidance (currently 5,15) and it is the default. Come to this
session to learn how to gain insights into Interrupt Delay, as well as if this
new default is right for you.
