What happens when you try to run hundreds of Linux servers all hosting heavy duty compile jobs on a single IBM Z? Well, lots of really interesting things, not to mention cranky customers and stressed system programmers. In this presentation, I'll discuss my practical experiences hosting hundreds of such servers on a LinuxOne. It will include the tuning techniques I learned from the hardware to z/VM to Linux and some of the things I tripped over on the way. While not a performance tuning expert, I have learned how to keep the "ship" on an even keel. In this presentation, I'll share some of the things I've learned.-Martha McConaghy-Marist College
