z/OS is a dynamic platform with potentially many mission critical workloads to monitor and manage simultaneously. Automated Performance Management is a methodology to handle the complexities of z/OS; and address potential issues reliably and at machine speed. IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM); OMEGAMON monitoring on z/OS; IBM System Automation (SA); and IBM Operational Analytics provide powerful; integrated; easy-to-use automation; command and control capabilities.
This presentation will look at several automated performance management scenarios. The presentation's focus is on the synergy of the various IBM technologies to manage z/OS in a more automated and effective manner. The presentation will show examples of new technologies; such as IBM Systems Management Unite; and IBM Operational Analytics.-Ed Woods-IBM Corporation
