IMS performance is an ongoing process. You must use two approaches - Proactive and Reactive. You must have a standard methodology. You must have the necessary tools You must tune z/OS and Coupling Facilities and DASD and TCP/IP and VTAM, and the IMS system and IMS applications and IMS databases. You are not just trying to reduce response time or turnaround time You are also trying to reduce resources even if performance is “acceptable”. This talk will outline a basic methodology for Proactive tuning of your IMS system.
