Today's IMS is extensively interconnected, thanks in part to the IMS Open Database Manager (ODBM) and additional robust integration capabilities. As you deploy increasingly interconnected workloads, the ability to successfully diagnose problems is dependent upon the log data that is captured. In this session, you will learn best practices for setting up your IMS ODBM environment to ensure that you are gathering first failure data capture diagnostics. We will review key data elements used in ODBM, and recommend specific traces, dumps, and serviceability level indication processing (SLIP) traps. These best practices will make your life easier when you must gather diagnostic documentation in a complex interconnected environment.-Jeffrey Maddix-IBM Corporation
