Introduction and Positioning of KVM for IBM z Systems

KVM for IBM z Systems will play a significant role in the delivery of future hypervisor capabilities for IBM z Systems. KVM for IBM z; along with the industry-leading capabilities of z/VM; will give Linux users even more flexibility in leveraging the strengths of IBM z Systems to host large-scale; enterprise-class; virtual server solutions. KVM for IBM z offers value for new customers looking to take their KVM skills and ecosystem to a whole new level of business value on IBM z Systems and LinuxONE platforms.     

This session will explain the positioning of KVM for IBM z in z Systems and LinuxONE environments. An overview of the technology and an explanation of ordering and support will be provided. The fact that IBM plans to enhance KVM for IBM z on a short release cadence will also be discussed.-Steffen Thoss-IBM Corporation
