REXX is a procedural language that is designed to be easy to use and is popular across many computing platforms. It is used daily by z/OS and z/VM system programmers for everything from simple tools to complex applications.
If you would like to start learning and using the REXX language, this two-part hands-on lab is for you. We'll start with the very basics, and then you'll "choose your own adventures" among topics and exercises ranging from basic REXX constructs to more advanced REXX programs. The focus and exercises will be on REXX on z/VM but the language constructs apply to REXX on all platforms. If you are new to z/VM, don't worry, please come anyway; we'll get you started and help you navigate your z/VM session.
This is an informal workshop. Bring your own device (laptop) with 3270 emulator installed. You will need to be able to create a session pointing to the lab server.
