You have heard that Simultaneous Multithreading is a major new feature on the IBM z13, but what does that really mean for you? The speaker will explore what SMT is from a hardware perspective and how its use has been implemented it in z/VM. We'll discover the new and changed commands and configuration statements, so you know how to implement it in your shop. Finally, we'll talk about how SMT may affect your workload and performance. We'll look at some performance results as well. You'll come out of this session not only knowing how to spell "SMT" but also understanding how to make it work for you.-Bill Bitner-IBM Corporation
