Elastic Storage for Linux on IBM z Systems is an extremely powerful file system based upon the IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS) technology. This solution provides a robust cluster file system for Linux on z Systems using either extended count key data (ECKD) DASD or FCP attached scsi disks. In this hands-on lab you will experience installing GPFS for Linux on z Systems V4.1 and creating a 3 node cluster sharing ECKD DASD. Your cluster will have two server nodes and one client node. You will create the cluster, create the network shared disk, create a file system using that disk, dynamically add a disk to the file system, watch failover with continuous I/O being done to the disk, and learn where debugging data is located.-Richard Lewis-IBM Corporation
