The mainframe was built for more - and it's coming!
After 55 years of supporting the world economy, we've come to take the mainframe for granted so much that many people seem to think it's ceased to exist - or is about to.
In fact, after surviving and thriving in challenges from bringing business computing to an ever higher level, to putting people on the moon, to Y2K, we are now about to face three completely new and different challenges, almost simultaneously - or should I say tsunamultuously?
This session will review the background and context of the mainframe ecosystem, its robust architecture and culture, and strategies for dealing with the coming tsunamis of a complete capsizing of the mainframe workforce, the serious invading of the mainframe by the hacking community, and the overwhelming inundation of opportunities stemming from the survival and success of the mainframe in the face of these challenges.-Reg Harbeck-Mainframe Analytics Ltd.
