Today's performance monitoring products have many features beyond the actual monitoring of system performance and utilization. Leaving their use to just the "performance guy" or the "capacity planning gal" means that a valuable tool is being underutilized. This fast-paced session will be a presentation by representative of four major performance monitoring tools (in alphabetical order): ASG's ASG-TMON, BMC's MainView for z/OS, CA's CA SYSVIEW Performance Management, and Rocket Software's Mainstar MXI. The emphasis will be on how a Systems Programmer can make use of these tools to do their job. Come and learn about features in the product you already have that can make your life easier. Or if your installation does not have such a tool, you can learn about their potential benefits to you and your installation. Each speaker will have approximately 15 minutes to provide attendees with a product and positioning overview.
Presenter(s): Bob Shannon, Rocket Software; Keith E. Moe, BMC Software; Gary Henderson, Allen Systems Group and James Cray, CA Technologies
