Zowe is the Open Mainframe Project's open source tooling plafrom for z/OS. This talk will cover a soup to nuts story that covers the landscape of "I'm interested in Zowe - where do I start" through to preparing the z/OS environment with pre-requisites, obtaining and installing Zowe convenience build or SMP/E distribution, applying maintenance and PTFs, starting and stopping, managing security, performance tuning, diagnosing problems. This talk is given jointly by Dan from the client experience centre who has configured Zowe for many machines within IBM and at customer sites, and also by Joe Winchester who works on the squad that builds the Zowe installer. This talk will also cover how to extend Zowe so that vendor products share the same base Zowe instance.-Joe Winchester-IBM - Hursley Labs; Dan Jast-IBM; Michael Bauer-Broadcom; Peter Haumer-IBM
