In this session we will go over the current options for hardware configuration
changes with a special focus on dynamic remote hardware only activate. This is
the ability to change hardware I/O configuration of your IBM Z or LinuxONE
server, on which you are not running an instance of z/OS HCD. We describe the
newest firmware components and how they work together with z/OS HCD to
successfully achieve an activate without requiring an IML.
Furthermore, let's dive deeper into z/OS HCD by discussing its most common error
messages displayed during hardware activation, especially related to the latest
firmware components. A detailed explanation on how to interpret them and what to
do in case you encounter any of them will be given. -- Presented by Carla Fernandez
