The common misconception of mainframe platform being 'most secure' (by default),
while they are actually the 'most securable', has left many clients with
incomplete security for their mainframe platform. This presentation discusses
case studies of customers lagging behind current security protocols on the
mainframe and discussing not only why but the remediation put into place.
Highlighted are the IBM Z protection against cyber-attacks becoming pro-active,
not reactive. This presentation covers cyber-resiliency intro/basics gaps from
the case study; Mainframe/SOR - target for Cyber attacks; breaking down the
different domains and pillars in Enterprise Security - physical to application;
the importance of addressing resiliency across each layer to reach the data; and
Z-specific solutions for all domains and pillars.
