Today's software developers and testers must think beyond "Does it work" to
include "How well does it work". Incorporating performance testing into agile
development approaches helps reduce the potential of well-meaning innovation
causing havoc on enterprise IT applications. Incorporating a steady cadence of
performance testing at the developer level establishes credibility and
confidence in the DevOps cycle to deliver quality software that builds more
business value with every change. We will demonstrate three examples where
automated performance testing can catch nascent problems before they impact
overall production. Attendees will learn 1. The role of performance testing in
building modern software 2. How to implement automated performance testing on
the mainframe 3. Be able to articulate the key benefits to including a regular
cadence of performance testing in terms of development metrics
