Mainframes are often used to manage highly sensitive information, such as
financial data, customer information, and confidential business processes, all
of which are highly sought after by cybercriminals, making them prime targets
for attacks. To better understand these risks, threat modeling of a mainframe
should include a comprehensive system evaluation, including architecture, user
base, access controls, and data storage practices. In this session you will
learn the importance of threat modeling and how to identify the adversarial risk
of operating mainframes in a networked environment. Discover how you can reduce
the risk of data breaches and other cyberattacks, and ensure that your mainframe
remains secure and reliable. This talk requires no prerequisite knowledge;
however, an understanding of security threats and vulnerabilities would be
helpful. Do not forget to bring your evil grin.
