What does a Router do? How is it different than a Switch? What does a netmask
do? What is a default gateway? How do I network my PC, my Linux, or my
mainframe? In this presentation, the speaker will teach the basics of how TCP/IP
works, by following a packet step-by-step across the internet and back, and
using some core diagnostic tools (like traceroute, ping, nslookup and netstat).
These tools will help you if you are diagnosing problems on your steaming TV,
your z/OS system, or on your kid's xbox.
