In todays IT world, where we need to deal with big data, performance of I/O operations is one of the items that becomes important. In this session the speaker will share her experiences related to analizing and monitoring the performance of DASD and Tape solutions in an environment where IBM DS8X and IBM TS3500 and TS7700-with grid are used. Environment also includes GDPS/XRC and GDPS/PPRC HM solutions, z196s where HyperPAV and zHPF are being used. Alerts and ROTs that are used to analize performance of DASD will be discussed; along with RMF monitor III panels hints and tips. SMF records such as SMF74 cache staticsm, SMF42 records, field meanings and components of I/O from a performance point of view, will also be mentioned. Meral Temel ; Garanti Technology
