z/OS is a dynamic platform with potentially many mission critical workloads to monitor and manage simultaneously. Automated Performance Management is a methodology to handle the complexities of z/OS, and address potential issues reliably and at machine speed. Automated performance management focuses on the synergy and integration of monitoring technology with automation and analytics capabilities.
This presentation will look at the typical integration points of systems monitoring and automation, and consider how to expand those capabilities to include analytics. The presentation will cover examples of automated performance management scenarios, including z/OS, IMS, CICS, and DB2. Examples using IBM OMEGAMON, IBM Systems Automation, and the Tivoli Enterprise Portal will be shown to illustrate the benefits of an automated performance management approach. Attend this presentation to learn how automated performance management may be used to address critical z/OS performance and availability issues.-Ed Woods-IBM Corporation
