Attend this session to hear about the simplicity of implementing a private cloud on IBM Z using z/VM and Velocity Software's zVPS and zPRO while starting from an empty new data center site in just two days.
There is a lot of publicity about cloud computing solving all of the issues of traditional IT. It is important to be able to make changes to our IT environment quickly as needs arrive. A private cloud is a good way to enable that behavior. We often hear than mainframes are too difficult to use in cloud computing. IBM Z with industry leading virtualization using z/VM has been creating virtual private clouds using Linux for twenty years. In this presentation, I will share an overview of the experience we had planning and implementing IBM Z hardware, z/VM, performance and private cloud management software, and cloning Linux virtual servers in just two days.-Rick Barlow-Velocity Software, Inc
