IBM z Systems is an incredibly powerful platform - and not just for traditional workloads. Increasingly it is being seen as the primary enterprise server for new types of workload, such as mobile and Java. But what about the so-called "impending skills issue"? How much of a problem is it really, and if some companies do not have an issue, then how have they solved it? This Lunch and Learn will share the case study of how the IBM Hursley development lab has made the transformation from an aging team a decade ago, to a team where around a third of the current development organization are in their twenties or early thirties. There will be number of 'Generation z' mainframe professionals sharing their own personal experiences, and we encourage all SHARE attendees to come and share their views also.-Ian Burnett-IBM UK Laboratories Limited; Andy Bates-IBM UK Laboratories Limited; William Yates-IBM UK Laboratories Limited; Chris Poole-IBM Corporation
