This session will provide insight on how to achieve greater agility from your existing CICS applications by externalizing business rules from code and by enabling detection of event-based data patterns to make applications more responsive to actionable business situations. WebSphere Operational Decision Management for z/OS enables you to maintain critical business decision logic in your CICS applications while avoiding lengthy application development cycles. CICS TS 4.x has added the capability to emit events from existing applications as well as host the Business Rule Execution. With Operational Decision Management on z/OS, the use of Business Events to DETECT business situations occurring and then Business Rules to DECIDE how to handle the situation is a powerful way to extend existing applications.
