CLOUDVTB is a new solution that allows you to copy z/OS tape data sets to an on-premise private Cloud, and/or public Cloud, reducing your tape footprint, providing device independence for today and the future. Since CLOUDVTB creates the tape copy in a generic format, you have the flexibility to restore it to the current installed tape equipment and can eliminate the older hardware and the cost associated with managing it.
The speaker will provide technical details on requirements, supported devices, implementations and operations.
The speaker will also provide details on 3 key objectives of CLOUDVTB; cost savings, device independence, while maximizing DR objectives and meet service level objectives.
We will also detail customer experiences and explore the rollout and how they benefited from device independence.-John Killeen-Innovation Data Processing
