Over the years, z/OS performance specialists, capacity planners, and cost analysts have had access to a sea of activity measurement data, from which they attempt to determine if goals are being met or how continued growth will impact resource availability. One dilemma they face is identifying and quantifying the activity that is driven by distinct business units.
