DBAs often needs to alter schema definitions of objects to support evolving needs of applications. A common scenarios occurs when a DBA copying data from one subsystem to the other and must synchronize the definitions of these objects. When the DBA might not succeed in synchronizing object definitions in the catalog can cause application outage and significantly affect the requirement of 24/ 7 environment.
This presentation will start with an overview of Db2 data versioning and presenting the common scenario of " do's and don't's" when using DSN1COPY to copy data cross different Db2 subsystem. A new option introduced in REPAIR utility that provides better reliability capability to enhance application availability after DSN1COPY.-Frances Villafuerte-IBM
