Come and learn the best practices and updates to Distributed Access on DB2 for z/OS V9 and V10. We will go over the recommended driver and server configurations for work load balancing and client reroute in a Data Sharing environment. Will show you new DB2 commands that can be used to dynamically add and remove members from a subset thus influencing the target members used to service specific applications, without taking a DB2 or DDF outage. These commands can also be used to specify additional network interfaces to reach a Data Sharing subset. We will also discuss improvements to DDF cancel thread, distributed correlation, location stats, optional domain name and dynamic updates to communications data base. We will also go over the DB2 command to know in real time how a DBAT is performing relative to its goals and how to monitor direct driver connections.
