Deploying CICS Regions with the z/OS Provisioning Toolkit

The z/OS Provisioning Toolkit enables the rapid provisioning of z/OS development environments, by utilising the capabilities, controls and governance provided by the IBM Cloud Provisioning and Management for z/OS component of z/OSMF. In this session we will focus on provisioning CICS regions using the toolkit. We will see how a systems programmer can easily customize an IBM provided CICS template, to meet their companies standards and naming conventions. We will demonstrate the controls, limits and approval processes in place in z/OSMF, that enable the customised template to be published and used for self-service provisioning of CICS regions by an agreed set of users, and how CICS regions can be quickly deprovisioned when they are no longer required.-Ledina Hido-Evans-IBM
