In this presentation we will look at Licensing Keys for the Mainframe. What is inside that jumble of letters and numbers; what are the software vendors trying to prevent happening by issuing these codes. We will look at vendors codes across three dimensions of a) expiry date, b) hardware and c) product codes.
We will take a detailed view into a Windows based software license that has different objectives from Mainframe license codes (I wrote this software, and designed the code).
Lastly we will rate some of the Mainframe codes based on how easy (I think) it would be to guess a new code (no re-engineering required).-Daniel Companez-Pitaron Pty Ltd
