DFSMSrmm, the IBM tape management system, includes an extensive REXX interface and program API that can be used to create standardized or custom reports about tape volumes, data sets, and the DFSMSrmm environment itself. We'll discuss how the DFSMSrmm API can be used directly or with REXX, how the API variables are named and used, and how to create your own customized API-based DFSMSrmm reports and queries.
