This session gives some tips when you use certificates on z/OS. z/OS supports digital certificates in different components like RACF, System SSL, LDAP, CICS, Communication Server, WAS, HTTP server. The discussion will include how these components work together and answers to the common questions like what certificates are needed for server authentication versus client authentication, whether to use a shared certificate amongst several servers, what is needed in a shared certificate, how to plan the renewal, where to generate a CSR (certificate signed request), what key size should be used etc. Ross Cooper ; IBM Corporation
