This presentation will describe the architectural features that allow semi-privileged programs to communicate with address spaces other than their own. Topics include:
* A review (revue?) of architectural facilities
* ASN translation
* DAS instructions (EPAR, ESAR, MVCP, MVCS, basic and space-switching PC and PT, SAC, SACF, and SSAR)
* The Linkage Stack and related instructions (BAKR, EREG, ESTA, MSTA, PR, TAR)
* Enhancements with ESA/390
* Enhancements with ASN-and-LX-reuse facility (EPAIR, ESAIR, PTI, SSARI)
* Examples of z/OS interfaces, including sample programs.
