Explaining EXPLAIN: DB2 10 Edition

DB2's EXPLAIN has been around almost as long as DB2 has. It's the method to discover what access path DB2 is choosing for an SQL statement. In the last few years, there have been some significant changes made to DB2; everything from the number of tables EXPLAIN populates to the controls for using EXPLAIN. This presentation will take a brief look at EXPLAIN and then examine what's new with EXPLAIN in DB2 10. Willie Favero ; IBM Corporation
