Support for the Python 2.7 programming language was recently announced for Unix System Services, with Python 3.6 on the horizon. In this presentation there will be an introduction of the Python programming language, the need-to-know differences between Python 2 and 3, some examples of how it can be used on the mainframe, and how SAS is leveraging Python and tools like Jupyter notebooks to provide an API for the newer generation of data scientists to write Python code on every platform, including zOS.-Holden E.
