Two years ago Henri released his first version of zigi (z/OS ISPF Git Interface),an open-sourced ISPF tool to empower the ISPF developer to use git as a backend for his/her source code management. Lionel saw this project and got committed (no pun intended) to the project. This distributed collaboration resulted in a very functional and mature ISPF git client (still called zigi). Current version of zigi is now 2.5 and allows the ISPF developer to manage their companies source code in a git backend with all the added joy of never leaving their trusted ISPF environment.
During this session Lionel and Henri will share their experiences on real open source development for (and in) z/OS, showcase the latest version of zigi and its primary features and future roadmap.
Attendees will get an inside scoop on how zigi can help their Company to migrate it’s business Source Code Management to git. It will also show them what distributed source code development looks like on the Mainframe.-Lionel Dyck-21st Century Software; Henri Kuiper-Zdevops
