Virtual tape systems remain critical components of business continuity architectures. Many advances in mainframe virtual tape technology have recently occurred, including the capability to replicate data to cloud based storage. At the same time, significant advances in data replication and extension technology have occurred. These advances include a new extension technology for IP based replication known as IP Extension (IPEX). This session will discuss the technology advances Oracle has developed for the VSM 7, the technology advances Brocade has developed for virtual tape replication/extension, and the benefits these technologies have when combined together for business continuity architectures.-Stephen Guendert-Brocade Communications Systems; Steve Aaker-Oracle
