It seems the whole mainframe industry is lamenting the lack of younger professionals who are interested in pursuing a career with mainframes. The speaker, Connor Krukosky, might well be an extreme counter example to that.
Connor is an 18 year old college student who recently acquired an IBM z890 machine from an online auction, and is now busily getting it up and running. His talk will cover a variety of topics including: • How he become aware of mainframes in the first place
• What got him interested in learning more about them
• Where he found information about them
• His experiences to date getting the z890 in place and fired up
