As far back as IMS 7 (GA'd 2011) and as recently as IMS 14 (GA'd 2015), IBM provided enhancements allowing you to dynamically create, modify, manage, maintain, and access your IMS Databases. These enhancements enable you to reduce planned IMS Database outages to provide high availability of your IMS data for mobile and online business: • IMS 7 = HALDB
• IMS 8 = Common Service Layer
• IMS 9 = HALDB OnLine Reorg
• IMS 10 = Dynamic Resource Definition
• IMS 11 = Universal JDBC Driver and ODBM
• IMS 12 = Dynamic Full Function Database Buffer Pools
• IMS 13 = Database Versioning, HALDB Alter, amd FP DEDB Alter
• IMS 14 = Dynamic Database Definition - IMS Managed ACBs and DDL
In this session, the speaker will detail the recent IMS 14 Dynamic Database Definition enhancements, after a quick overview of database enhancements in earlier IMS releases.-Nancy Stein-IBM Corporation
