Modernization of IMS provides new opportunities for end user applications to use existing data stores and structures to provide new and efficient customer services; letting gravity decide where the data resides.  IMS modernization is built around IMS systems features you need to know.  The IMS catalog is integral to many potential enhancements, new uses and increased effectiveness of current applications.  This session discusses: 1) What the catalog is and how implementing it creates potential modernization of existing applications. 2) Why the catalog makes modernization easier. 3) When to implement the various phases of catalog use.  We might cover a few of the Hows.
