This presentation explains what the industry buzzword `virtualization` means in the context of IBM Z processors and the z/VM operating system. Key topics include IBM Z computing concepts, the virtual machine model, and what virtualization and over commitment mean for CPU, memory, and I/O. Then we move on to commands and facilities for configuring virtualized resources. Finally, we touch on high level overviews of concepts like clustering, debug and installation. Throughout, we will explore how the z/VM virtual machine model transcends mere hardware virtualization to provide value for our customers.-Jacob Gagnon-IBM
