This session covers the Application JCL conversion challenges of migrating JES3 JECL statements to equivalent JCL statements for JES2; utiizing automated tooling.
The conversion of the actual JES3 JECL statements were known to be the longest and most difficult part of the project. We will discuss how we limited scope and created script based tooling to automate the actual conversion of the JCL. This greatly reduced the time and cost to our enterprise from an application perspective. By following this methodology we greatly increased our confidence interval of not missing any critical JCL.
This session will include the planning around the inventory; communication; NET statement solution design and conversion plan with business application teams; to ensure successful implementation.-Bruce Dennis-Nationwide Insurance; Tom Posival-Nationwide Insurance
