This set of hands-on lab sessions demonstrates many of the newest capabilities of the IBM OMEGAMON performance monitoring suite (z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, Storage, Networks, JVM), System Automation for z Systems, IBM Z Operations Analytics, IBM Common Data Provider for z Systems and IBM Z Application Performance Management Connect. This lab session provides:
1) step-by-step exercises on how to monitor performance for z/OS, CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ, Storage, Networks and Java, using the newest versions of IBM OMEGAMON performance management solutions,
2) how to use OMEGAMON to monitor and manage new z/OS workloads, such as z/OS Connect,
3) step-by-step exercises on how to proactively manage your enterprise system log messages and transform data into operational insights using the latest version of IBM Z Operations Analytics and IBM Common Data Provider for z Systems, as well as IBM zAware,
4) experience with the new user interface that is part of IBM System Automation for z/OS version 4.1, which provides an integrated view that enables you to manage your automation environment, use automation functions for applications running on z Systems and distributed platforms and get a definite explanation why a resource is in a given state,
