Transparent cloud tiering (TCT) on the DS8000 in conjunction with DFSMS demonstrates the compelling synergy between IBM Storage and Z. The solution provides business efficiencies and flexibility and is designed to reduce capital and operating expenses with direct data transfer from DS8000 to an object storage platform, including the TS7700 Virtualization Engine, which can be the object storage target for TCT. In this session, the speakers will review customer use cases and value along with new enhancements extending this synergistic solution.
