As security concerns continue to increase, more enterprises are deploying network security protocols such as Transport Layer Security (TLS) on servers to protect their mission-critical data as it crosses the network. However, the programming changes needed to enable applications for TLS and the complexity of its security configuration has historically introduced heavy development costs and lengthy deployment times. z/OS has improved this situation with Application Transparent Transport Layer Security (AT-TLS). AT-TLS is a Communications Server policy-based capability which implements TLS as a TCP/IP stack function requiring little to no application modification. In this session the speaker describes AT-TLS and how it works, why you might want to use it, and an overview of AT-TLS configuration.-Lin Overby-IBM Corporation
