Disk I/O setups and configurations are key for Linux on IBM Z servers. Doing these things right allow to use to full capacity what IBM Z provides, attaching and configuring disks in the simplest way may lead to poor performance. The presentation introduces available features in Linux and IBM Z or storage server hardware to increase disk I/O throughput. It discusses what they are, which options they provide and why or when they should be used. This session is technical and the audience should have a good understanding of Linux, IBM Z and storage server concepts.-Stefan Reimbold-IBM Corporation
