OMEGAMON situations are a vital component of an effective systems management strategy Organizations can increase the business benefit of situations by leveraging situations across multiple OMEGAMON environments. Scenarios for multi-environment include large organizations with separate ownership of monitoring implementations across geographic boundaries, as well as adherence to standard Test to Production application development life cycles.
Migrating objects across environments requires a well defined process. To successfully perform situation migration requires an understanding of the architectural components of ITM / OMEGAMON products, along with detailed knowledge of the level of products installed in all involved environments.
This session will address the architectural aspects of the OMEGAMON/ITM environment, technical utilities available, and the notion of a best practice for successful situation migration.
